KOI
Fish Techknowledge has years of experience farming koi carps. For a long time we work with the ´Viskwekerij Driel´. All the fish come from 100% Japanes parents. The "Dutch Japan Koi" are selected based on form and colour, We have different varieties like Chagoi, Sora-goi, Oshiba Shigure, Kohaku en Showa (all with the gin-rin variants).
The animals are garanteed free of any disease or parasites and they have more than enough resistance against common bacteria like Flexibacter columnaris.
As per januari 2001 the farming activities are based in the ´Viskwekerij Driel' which is actually a cooperation between Fish Tecknowledge and Fishfarming Aqua Vita.
´Dutch Japan Koi´ are farmed in a proven and tested fashion. Quality of the Koi is hereby based upon two important factors:
1. Health. Because the animals are bred from eggs a good selection takes place and acquiring immunological resistance plays a crucial role. This is a major advantage in contrast with importing fish from Japan. Koi are very sensitive to their environment and the best thing you can do is breeding them from eggs to prevent major enviromental changes.
2. Colour and Form. After selection based on resistance and health we select on colour and form.
